Heidelberg – Bruchsal – Pforzheim – Donaueschingen – Radolfzell on Lake Constance

What a starting point, what a destination: from picturesque Heidelberg to the no less beautiful Lake Constance, this cycle path leads once through Baden-Württemberg, 300 kilometers from north to south. It is as varied as it is steep, starting with the thousand hills of the Kraichgau, passing through valleys and over a few heights of the Black Forest before the efforts are rewarded with magnificent descents from Donaueschingen. Along the route of this quiet and predominantly rural bike path is the Kurpfalz asparagus landscape around Reilingen and St.Leon-Rot, the gold town of Pforzheim, Hesse's birthplace of Calw, Baden-Württemberg's oldest town of Rottweil, the source of the Danube in Donaueschingen, and the Hohentwiel castle ruins near Singen, Germany's largest fortification. Whoever is there has almost made it and can almost smell the mild air of Lake Constance.
