Schlierbach

Schlierbach stretches along the slopes of the Königstuhl from the Karlstor to the internationally renowned Orthopedic University Hospital.

Around 3,200 people live in Schlierbach and enjoy the wooded location along the Neckar Valley.
In the 19th century, numerous well-known personalities built their villas here. Among them was the Nobel Prize winner in chemistry, Professor Carl Bosch, whose villa is now home to the Klaus Tschira Foundation and several external institutions. Since 1998, the neighboring Carl Bosch Museum on Schloss-Wolfsbrunnenweg has been dedicated to the scientist's findings and offers exciting insights into the life of this Heidelberg icon.

The Heidelberg University Orthopedic Clinic Foundation at the eastern end of Schlierbach is the most important employer in the district. The clinic treats thousands of patients from all over the world every year.
