Additional Participation Conditions for Bike Tours
By booking, you accept the General Terms and Conditions of HDM and the additional participation requirements (if applicable) for yourself and your fellow travelers.
In addition to the applicable "General Terms and Conditions for Special Activities of Heidelberg Marketing GmbH" (particularly Sections 3 and 11), which you can view at any time here (https://www.heidelberg-marketing.de/fileadmin/Mediendatenbank/agb/2025/GTC_EN_Special_Activities.pdf ) or at our Tourist Information, the following additional participation conditions apply to bike tours:
1. The participant is responsible for providing their own bicycle for the bike tour. Heidelberg Marketing does not provide rental bikes. Heidelberg Marketing points out the rental offers from independent third-party providers such as Radhof Bergheim, Radolino, or Joyrides. The legal or contractual claims within the rental agreement with a third-party provider remain unaffected by the liability limitation in Section 7 below.
2. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that the bike tour is suitable for them, considering their personal health condition, before booking and taking part in the guided tour. HDM does not owe any special medical advice or instructions tailored to the individual guest, unless explicitly agreed otherwise.
3. During the bike tour, participants are required to wear a bicycle helmet. The specific helmet requirement under § 21a, para. 2 of the German Road Traffic Act (StVO) is explicitly mentioned. Heidelberg Marketing GmbH and the respective tour guides are not obligated to check if participants wear helmets, and any violations of the helmet requirement are the sole responsibility of the participant.
4. Participants are responsible for the technical safety of their bicycles and must check this before starting the ride.
5. Participants agree to comply with legal traffic regulations and show consideration for other road users and fellow tour participants.
6. Minors may only participate if accompanied by an adult. Registration can only be done by a legal guardian. The responsibility for supervision remains with the accompanying adult for the entire duration of the tour.
7. By participating in the bike tour, you expressly acknowledge the general risks associated with such participation and the agreed limitation of liability towards Heidelberg Marketing GmbH, according to Section 9 of the General Terms and Conditions for the Experience Offers of Heidelberg Marketing GmbH.
